• It is recommended to be between 20 and 30 minutes before the departure point. Your departure time will depend on the choice at the time of your reservation on the website. The details of the departure station, travel time and pick-up time from a representative to your hotel, if applicable, will be explained the day before your tour by our representatives.
• There are 2 possible departure points from the city of Cusco, depending on the chosen time and availability, you will be given instructions for your transfer. During their trip they must follow the instructions of the company representatives and especially when transferring from bus to train and vice versa.
• Once you have arrived at the town of Machupicchu known as Aguas Calientes, our representative, the guide, will wait for you in the Plaza de Armas of the town of Machu Picchu to explain everything necessary so that you are ready for your tour to the Machu Picchu sanctuary that It is located on the top of the mountains. If you have the time, you can buy something to eat or drink, the guide will be able to guide you better on this.
• The guide will tell you when to start the line to board the included tourist bus that leaves every 10 minutes. The bus only takes 30 minutes each way. Once at the top, the entire group will meet with the guide to identify themselves at the entrance control with their passports and tickets in the system.
• The main circuit (1 and 2) in the sanctuary lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours without including the mountains that are part of the alternate circuits (3 and 4). The ascent and descent of the Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu mountains takes approximately 2.5 to 3 additional hours.
• The bilingual guide will tell you the secrets and history of the ruins of Machu Picchu while you walk through its different stone areas and appreciate the landscapes.
• You will have free time to walk around and take unforgettable photos but remember that the circuit is only one way so you cannot return but you can stay at some points of the circuit to wait to get that perfect photo or improve the weather in the citadel. You do not have a departure time other than the closing of the sanctuary, which is at 5 pm.
• The return bus included can be boarded at the exit of the sanctuary with the QR code on your ticket in the same way as on the way out. There are always return buses to the last one to leave the sanctuary.
• You will have free time if the train departure time allows it to have lunch or shop at the artisan market.
• To board the train back to Ollantaytambo (remember that you must be at the station 20 to 30 minutes before departure time) and you will find yourself passing through the craft market. The departure times are 2 options: 3:40 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. from the town station and it is a 4-hour journey to reach the city of Cusco.
• You arrive at the Ollantaytambo train station and representatives of the company will accompany you on the transfer to the bus.
• Return by private transportation from Ollantaytambo to Cusco (approximately 2 hours).
• You will return to the same station where you started your trip at around 8 p.m.

• Remember to enter the bathroom before entering the sanctuary since there is no toilet inside and it is prohibited to eat food, jump, dance, enter with a selfie stick or tripods, and use a drone.
• The climb to Wayna Picchu is considered one of the best short hikes in the world and ascends ancient staircases and Inca paths with an excellent view of the valley and mountains. The ascent lasts approximately 1 hour. Wayna Picchu is also known as the young mountain and is home to the Temple of the Moon. The Wayna Picchu mountain is located north of the Machu Picchu mountain and the latter is the largest, it takes approximately 1.5 hours to reach the top and less the descent so it takes approximately 3 hours to complete it although it is worth it since the view is the best of all and you will be able to see the Apus Verónica, Salkantay and Pumasillo, glaciers that the Inkas worshiped as gods.
• Machu Picchu mountain is also known as the old mountain and the road has a lot of vegetation and wild orchids and less steep paths.
• The Spanish never found Machu Picchu, which is why it is also known as the lost city of the Incas.
